Sphere
2008

This work was completed after the pyramid, Out of Nothing into a New Creation, continuing to re-use the found materials that formerly comprised Bed, another project of 2008.

Sphere acted as a meditation on my practice and a physical outworking of ideas and logistical barriers whilst utilizing my process of ordering and joining. It aided me in thinking about issues that needed consideration before commencing Home. Issues such as audience interaction, the inside of structures and practical joining methods were main matters; this partially dictated the form of the object but it is also spherical in a continuation of using a geometrical manner before committing to a room installation.

The hole acts to reveal the inside, similarly to Home, signifying the outside as a shell, all these works revolve around the inside; it is this which is paramount and changes the object from passive to effective.
