Mattresses are objects that most are familiar with and have personal resonance to; they are an embodiment and symbol of what I am concerned with in my practice. I am interested in mattresses as a symbol of familiarity, domesticity, warmth, comfort, and rest; these photographs show them exaggerated in their displaced locations.

Mattresses are not dissimilar to radiators, as they typify a home where sanctuary, rest and comfort are paramount, emblematising concepts that I have been concerned with for an enduring amount of time.
